STUDENT PARKING

The Frederick County Public School System provides bus transportation for all students who qualify. Students are not encouraged to drive to school. Since parking spaces on campus are severely limited, students must demonstrate a clear need to drive to school. Students must display the ability to operate their vehicles in a responsible and safe manner. Additionally, all traffic and parking regulations connected with this privilege must be obeyed. It is the student's responsibility to honor these rules. Remember that parking on school property is a privilege, not a right.

PARKING PERMITS

A parking permit is required to park on campus at Walkersville High School. Applications for a parking permit are available in the Main Office. Only Seniors and Juniors are eligible to apply for a permit. Once approved, permits are issued at the beginning of Semester 1 and Semester 2. Permits cost $5.00 per semester and will be considered for students who meet at least one of the following criteria:

  2. Those students who attend early classes at the Frederick County Career Technology Center (CTC).
  3. Students with Administrative Attendance Waiver.

Students with permits may park on campus on a first-come basis. Students are encouraged to arrive at school early in order to avoid rushing to school to park in a desired area. Students should arrive by 7:10 a.m. Students are allowed to park in designated areas.

At unannounced and randomly selected times, a canine unit will be inspecting cars in our parking lot. At that time, the school system procedures for handling drug offenses will be initiated.
