CELLULAR TELEPHONES/PORTABLE PAGERS

Students are not permitted to use cell phones, portable pagers or any other portable electronic device during the school day, while aboard a school bus, or during after school activities. It is the intent of Frederick County Public Schools to ensure that the student possession or use of electronic devices does not:
  • Disrupt the learning environment or school activity
  • Pose a threat to academic integrity
  • Violate confidentiality or privacy rights of others
  • Create safety concerns
It is an expectation that students keep such items powered off and stored out of sight. Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary measures from probation to suspension. These items may also be confiscated and returned to the student at the end of the school day or to the parent/guardian.
