Physics, Algebra Based
Algebra-Based Physics meets the Maryland State Content Standards for Physics. This course will explore the same concepts covered in the Physics I curriculum. The course will engage students in the study of Kinematics, Dynamics, Conservation Laws, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism, and Modern Physics. The topics covered in Algebra Based Physics are presented using both conceptual and mathematical analysis appropriate to the students’ abilities.
Algebra-Based Physics provides ninth grade student, achieving at the Honors level, the opportunity to study Physics as their first High School science course. The course provides excellent preparation for students entering either Chemistry I or Biology. Students completing this course will meet the science prerequisites to enter Physics II or AP Physics.
Prerequisite: Algebra I (Geometry recommended)
