Art Contest for the 2007 Frederick County Science & Engineering Fair Booklets

Again this year Frederick County Public Schools and the Frederick Jaycees are co-sponsoring a county-wide science and engineering fair. The fair will be held on march 23-24, 2007. The fair will be split into three divisions: elementary school, middle school and high school. Each division will have its own booklet listing student participants within that division. Student art, appropriate to each division, decorates the cover of the booklets.

The winning designs at each level will be displayed on the covers of their divisional fairs. In addition, divisional winners and honorable mentions will be announced on Channel 18 the week following the fair. All winners will be invited to the awards ceremony on March 24th. Award certificates not distributed at that time will be sent to the sponsoring teacher at the school.

Contest Rules:

Contest runs through Wednesday, March 7, 2006
All entries should be black and white, good quality, and submitted on standard 8 ½ x 11 inch paper.
Actual art work is to be no more than 7 ½ x 10 inches, allowing at tleast a half inch border around the entry.
All entries must include the words “26 th Annual Frederick County Science and Engineering Fair.” (Please note: past entries have been eliminated due to misspelled words. Check carefully for spelling errors.)
All entries must include artwork depicting a science, mathematics, or engineering theme-combinations of these themes are encouraged.
All entries must be received by the Science Curriculum Specialist, K-5 (Phil Brohawn, Church Street Office) or Science Curriculum Specialist, 6-12 (Stacey Adamiak, Hayward Road Complex) no later than 4:00 PM on Wednesday, March 7, 2006. Entries received after this date will not be judged.
No entries will be returned. All entries will be judged by FCPS science staff and members of the Frederick Jaycees science fair planning committee. All decisions are final.
