Chemistry in the Community (CHEMCOM)
This course emphasizes the environmental and biological applications of chemistry in modern society. Topics address the role of chemistry in the areas of water quality, conservation of resources, global energy needs, food and nutrition, nuclear energy, air quality, human body systems, and industrial manufacturing. Students will be expected to perform laboratory investigations, engage in class discussions, and complete individual group projects
Prerequisite: Introductory Chemistry/Physics
